About our Club

Welcome to the home of the Hethersett and Wymondham Velo Club. Our Club is affiliated to British Cycling and  was formed in May 2013 with two aims:

• making group cycling accessible to all levels of ability and experience
• making the experience of group riding enjoyable and friendly

We have a small committee of volunteers who uphold these aims, run the Club and organise events. There are typically four meetings each year and are open to all members.

We use the Hethersett Social club on Queens Road as our base. We also start or pick up riders at Howards Cycles on Back Lane, Wymondham depending on the proposed route on the day.

We offer different rides (distance and speed) throughout the week for riders of all abilities. The idea is to give as much variation as possible so everyone can achieve maximum enjoyment.

Our rides have at least one ride leader who will post in advance the ride details. This is typically starting points, timings, average speed, distance and destination. The ride details are advertised on our club Facebook page

The Rides page gives examples of weekly club rides.

We also organise other social events throughout the year, including a summer picnic / BBQ and Christmas party. Some examples are shown on our public Facebook page.

There is a small annual fee for membership. Before joining, potential new members can come along for up to four 4 rides as a guest and have temporary access to the club Facebook page. For further details, please see the Membership page.
