Our Club

Welcome to the home of the Hethersett and Wymondham Velo Club. Our club is affiliated to British Cycling and was formed in May 2013 with two aims:
1. making club cycling accessible to adult riders of all levels of ability to experience
2.making the experience of group riding enjoyable and friendly

We have a small committee of volunteers who uphold these aims, run the club and organise events. There are typically four meetings each year that are open to all members.

Our club rides start from either Hethersett Social club on Queens Road or, from the War Memorial in Wymondham (located at the junction of Town Green and Vicar Street) depending on the proposed route on the day.

We offer different rides(distance and speeds) throughout the week for riders of all abilities. We try to give as much variation as possible so everyone can achieve maximum enjoyment.

Our rides have at least one ride leader who will post in advance the ride details. This typically includes: the route, starting points, timings, average speed, distance and destination. The ride details are advertised on our club Facebook page. The rides page gives examples of weekly club rides.

We endeavour to organise other social events throughout the year, including a number of whole club rides, awaydays and Christmas social. Some examples of our rides can be found on our public Facebook page.

There is a small annual membership fee for membership of £12.

Before joining, potential new members can come along for up to four rides as a guest and have temporary access to the club Facebook page. For further details fill in your details on the ‘Join our club’ tab of this site. Our club membership secretary will then provide you with access to the members page.
